小作文：邀请教授组队参加创新比赛
Directions: Write an email to a professor at a British university, inviting him/her to organize a team for the international innovation contest to be held at your university.
Do not use your own name. Use “Li Ming” instead. Do not write the address.
【简析】本次考研小作文考察邀请信，与2013年英语（一）的小作文类似。题目要求考生写一封邮件，邀请英国某大学的教授组队参加一项将于你所在大学举办的国际创新大赛。按照题目要求，必须写到邀请，其他内容只要相关即可。

Dear Professor Sky,
As the chairman of the organizing committee of the international innovation contest, I am writing for the purpose of inviting you to organize a team for the contest.
Innovation can be likened to a journey, leading human society to moving forward. As we all know, you, compared with others, have richer experience in developing innovative products and theoretical research. Thus, we sincerely hope that you can organize a team and participate in the contest. Your participation will definitely bring every one new horizons, arouse youngsters’ passion for innovation and help the contest be successful.
The contest is scheduled to start on January 1 in the Students’ Center of our university and last for 3 days. We are looking forward to your favorable reply.

大作文：要不要听非专业讲座

【简析】本次图画作文延续近几年的出题风格，涉及到两个人对待同一事物的态度差别。本次作文很难写跑题，只要涉及学习知识均可，可以从积极的学习态度、学习各种知识的重要性、专注学好本专业、听各种讲座、保持好奇心、勤于学习等切入均不算跑题。
【范文】
Such a cartoon, apparently, can be associated with two distinct attitudes towards learning. Why? Let us observe it closely. Beside a bulletin board, there is a girl, pointing at the board and commenting: “This lecture is not concerning our major and it is worthless to listen to it. ” However, the other girl says: “It is definitely good to learn something!”
Successful figures, to my understanding, are characterized by their various merits, such as diligence, optimism, curiosity and positive attitude towards learning. Nonetheless, in reality, a host of youngsters are reluctant to acquire knowledge or skills beyond their majors. As a matter of fact, this shortsighted behavior has constituted an obstacle that hinders young people’s growth and progress in personal development. As a college student, I deem that it is of great necessity for us to gain various experience and competence, which may bring us power, arouse our passion for life and help us broaden our horizons.
Accordingly, the society as a whole should foster a positive atmosphere to educate and encourage teenagers to read diverse books and attend sorts of lectures if time and energy is available. Everyone should bear in mind that knowledge is power, treasure and the journey to a promising future.

这样一幅漫画，显然，能让我们想到两种截然不同的学习态度。为什么？让我们仔细观察一下图片。在一个布告栏旁，有一个女孩指着布告栏说：“这讲座与我们的专业无关，听也没用。”然而，另一个女孩说：“学点东西肯定很好呀！”
在我看来，成功人士突出特征就在于他们的各种优点，如勤奋、乐观、好奇和积极的学习态度。然而，在现实中，许多年轻人不愿意获得专业以外的知识或技能。事实上，这种短视的行为已经成为阻碍年轻人成长和个人发展进步的障碍。作为一名大学生，我认为获得各种经验和能力是非常必要的，这些经验和能力可以给我们带来力量，激发我们对生活的热情，帮助我们开阔视野。
因此，整个社会应该营造一种积极的氛围，教育和鼓励青少年在时间和精力允许的情况下阅读各种书籍和听各种讲座。每个人都应该记住，知识是力量、是财富、是通往光明未来的道路。
